What are adaptive tests?
Adaptive testing uses the best of AI technology to create a testing process that is personal to you. It automatically moves you up and down difficulty levels depending on your performance and schedules tests to optimise results.
We will use your date of birth and examination date to estimate which starting level is right for you. If we get this wrong, the system will move you up or down a level after your first test in each subject. If this information is incorrect, you can change it on your My Profile page.
As you improve, our system will automatically move you to a higher difficulty level where you will face trickier questions. Similarly, if you are struggling with a test's content, you will be moved down to a test that is more apporpriate for your current ability. This is not something to worry about, you will be automatically moved up again once you are confident with that test's content.
BOFAmaths testing is only available for account holders who have purchased a subscription. Choose a subscription via the shop page.
Each adaptive BOFAmaths test includes the following stages:
- An initial test to assess which areas you may be struggling with.
- Explanations and similar practice questions to help you with questions you answered incorrectly in the first stage.
- A retest to check your progress and highlight any remaining areas needing attention.
- A progress report detailing any errors made in the final retest will be sent to your email inbox after all stages are complete.
For the best results, we recommend you take a free Demo test before starting the real thing. This is so you can familiarise yourself with the test format without affecting your recorded test data or the adaptive testing algorithm.
